Everyday Workflows

The app end-to-end — ticket to session to Kard, planning your week, and backing up.

At a glance

Every other topic in this help site covers one surface end to end. This page is different — it's three common paths that cut across several surfaces, one step at a time, with a link into the deep topic at each step. Follow one top to bottom the first time through; after that, treat it as a map rather than a script.

Three paths through the app

Each step links straight into the topic that covers it in full — this page only shows the order they usually happen in.

From a live problem to a saved Kard

  1. Capture the ticket. Press Alt+T and log a new ticket — a title and a description are the only two fields you actually need to get started.
  2. Work it. Open its detail panel to add notes, a blocked reason, or a needs-attention flag as you go.
  3. Generate the Kard. If one doesn't exist yet, open the AI Generator and write it while the fix is still fresh — resolving comes next, and the resolve question can then link the real thing.
  4. Resolve it. Drag the card into the Resolved lane, or resolve it any other way — each one asks whether a Kashic Kard helped resolve it. Type two letters of the Kard's name and pick it from the matches: the ticket then carries a live ⬡ KARD link that opens that Kard. A name that matches nothing is kept as a plain label instead, and the app tells you which of the two happened.
  5. Find it again later. Search for it by name in the sidebar search, or browse to it by Domain in the library below.

Plan tomorrow before it plans you

  1. Put it on the grid. Give a ticket a day and a time — from its own card, or right-click an empty slot on the schedule board for something that isn't a ticket at all (a block, a break, a follow-up).
  2. Schedule across time zones without doing the math. For anything involving another city, click a zone on the Meridian bar and let it convert the time for you — it also warns you before a converted time lands on a weekend.
  3. Run it with the timer. Click ▶ Start Session and work with a wall-clock-honest timer — it can't quietly undercount time in a background tab, and it comes back paused, not silently still running, if you reload mid-session.
  4. Read how the week actually went. At week's end, the day columns' capacity meters and the MASTERY strip turn what happened into real numbers — how close your estimates ran, how much focus time you actually logged.

Make your library portable

  1. Pick Export or a full backup. Export (Ctrl+E) carries every Kard's full written content; Back up everything, in Settings, casts a wider net — tickets, sessions, preferences, per-Kard notes and AI-generated Kard content too. Read the difference before you pick one.
  2. Move the file. Either one downloads a plain JSON file to wherever your browser sends downloads — copy that file to the other machine however you'd move any file.
  3. Bring it back in. On the new machine, use Import or Restore from backup, matching whichever you exported. Both replace the current library rather than merging, and both say so plainly before you confirm.
  4. Verify it landed. Run Integrity Check (Ctrl+Alt+I) and confirm Kard Data and Taxonomy both read PASS.
